timmy rickard is a south london based drummer, composer and producer. heavily influenced by the 60’s downbeat funk revolution, and equally influenced by the hip hop culture born from that era.
timmy has spent over ten years in music education, studying with many teachers and gaining qualifications including a BMus popular music performance degree. however, its timmy’s personal study of records, musicians and the recording process that has truly shaped his sound, and consequently its as a studio musician that timmy feels most creatively satisfied.
as a private drum tutor, timmy has a strong desire to inspire the next generation of musicians, and is currently the resident drum and music production tutor at two south london schools.
timmy’s writing, production and performance credits include tours of the UK, Europe and Asia, performances on BBC1 and BBC2 and channel 4. airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 6, xfm, BBC 1xtra, BBC London, BBC Wales and Amazing Radio.
